sabina roth fotografierte die faszinierenden landschaften und täler im norden von englang in den yorkshire dales – eine ländliche und nur dünn besiedelte Region: Wensleydale.
Wensleydale ist nach dem Dorf Wensley benannt und wird vom River Ure durchflossen. Die Bilder zeigen die einzigartige Landschaft in wunderbarem Morgenlicht.
Das Landschaftsbild der Yorkshire Dales ist geprägt von Schaf- und Viehweiden, die durch Trockenmauern getrennt sind. Die Weiden bieten nahrhaftes Gras und befinden sich hauptsächlich in den Tälern. In den höheren Lagen überwiegt karges, von Farn, Hartgräsern und Heidekraut bewachsenes Land, in dem zahlreiche Wildtiere Lebensraum finden.
Die Bilder entstanden während eines workshops mit dem fotografen paul harris.
The Yorkshire Dales is unrivalled in its dramatic limestone crags, rivers, gorges, caves and escarpments rising and falling from the classic farming dales shaped by man over hundreds of years. No matter how many times you see the veritable jigsaw of meadows, dry stone walls, field barns and farmhouses, you cannot fail to be awed by the work that has continued to shape the Dales landscape today.
This is a lived in landscape of beauty and charm with a rich heritage of industry which lends itself to a myriad of poignant and atmospheric landscape photography from the brooding, overhanging limestone of Goredale Scar to the isolated valley of Littondale and the hamlets and field barns of Swaledale.
