Die Eiche – Königin aller Bäume

 

Der Baum ist Symbol ständiger Erneuerung, von Fruchtbarkeit, von Lebenskraft und ewigen Lebens. Der Baum als Ernährer und Beschützer. Die Sehnsucht nach Wiedergeburt und Unsterblichkeit ist im Menschen tief verwurzelt. Es ist deshalb nicht verwunderlich, dass der Baum als archetypisches Sinnbild des Lebens in vielen Kulturen und Religionen einen wichtigen Stellenwert einnahm. Allen voran die Eiche.

Dort, wo der Norden des Kantons Solothurn auf den Westen des Kantons Basel-Landschaft trifft, in der Nordwestecke der Schweiz also, liegt ein Hügelzug namens Blauen. Er ist ein bewaldeter und damit grüner Bergrücken. Er ist Wasserscheide, Grenzkamm und – je nach Standpunkt – erster oder letzter Hügelzug des Juras. Der Blauen ist auch der Hausberg und damit das Bindeglied einer ganzen Region. 2012 erlangte er unter besonderen Umständen nationale Beachtung.
